Too much time has passed...

Well, it's been a little while since I posted. I have made bags, skirts, shorts and tops.

These were made for my cousins/aunts in Bogota, they are fully reversible. I really enjoyed making them.
I made these Taylor shorts. I think I finally figured out the fitting on them. I did not add any pockets in the back but I think they really need them. I was pretty frustrated with the fit, needed to lengthen the crotch depth and after much trial and error, I think I got it. I hate making muslins but now see the error of my ways. These are wearable muslins.

New work dress

So, here is my new work dress. I bought this fabric from Joann's a couple of years ago and so it sat until last week. I had the pattern ready but had not cut the fabric. After looking at the Stashbusting group's pictures, I jumped right in!

Stashbusting 2015

Love this top, made from a cotton knit purchased at High Fashion Fabrics. It has no Lycra but I love the color and I purchased enough to make this top and a Renfrew too. The pattern is  McCall's 6513 by Palmer/Pletsch. Fantastic directions, this is my first PP pattern. Will definitely look for more by them since the fitting info is amazing. Not too much issue with pattern since it's for knits but so much good information. I did take off about 1.5 inches on each crossover side so there is no gaping at the front and about .5 inch from each sleeve as they were too wide. Also cut off about 3 inches from the bottom otherwise it would have been too long.

The skirt was made last year from a heavy ponte from Fabric Mart. I used StyleArc's Fay Skirt  pattern. Must admit I did not make it right away after getting the pattern in the mail since it did not make much sense to me. I think it was probably 4-5 mos before I decided to make it and have to admit it's my favorite skirt. I love the shape and no hemming!I used the same pattern for a different skirt in a raspberry ponte but made it knee length. Love it! By the way, it's a super fast and easy make. My favorite kind.

I love this top.

Stashbusting Sewalong 2015

I, Sandra, commit to using the fabric I already own and not to buy any new fabric unless it's for a specific garment or project in 2015!!

Posting this again because the first set had no captions and done on iPad which doesn't work so well.
This skirt is made from a Ponte knit I bought on Fabric Mart after seeing this dress http://www.shanniloves.com/2014/02/la-la-la-la-lady-skaterrrr.html and looking on the Fabric Mart site. I bought 3 yards and this skirt I made out of less than one yard. I cut a Renfrew http://www.sewaholicpatterns.com/tops-blouses/ and it's waiting to be sewn up. It's one of my TNT patterns. I decided that a dress from this fabric would be great but would not get enough wear, most of what I sew are office wear and casual separates. The dress would just hang in my closet.
This skirt I love, it fits two categories, Jungle January and also Stashbusting Sewalong 2015 which is also on FB.  I purchased this fabric last year.

OMG, I need some lipstick

Love my Renfrew! Plan to make many more of these, fabric purchased from Fabric Mart, it's soft and was easy to sew.
